Minnesoooota Thanksgiving!

This year Lindee and Aaron celebrated Thanksgiving with Robby and I in Duluth. Lindee and I made a feast of food... including a homemade pumpkin pie! Since this was Lindee's 1st thanksgiving away from her Alabama family... we made them this video! Enjoy :)

A Happy Hunter

My dad has been taking Robby pheasant hunting on the farm.... and he LOVES it! Today he shot his first pheasant and I was there to witness it! Nice shot Robby :)

Weekend with the girls!

Last weekend I got together with my college friends. We had so much fun catching up, dancing to 32 below (a band we followed in college), and watching movies. We took Jamie out for her first Martini... mmm!! Renee made the most delicous breakfast and she even made some homemade cinnamon whip cream... it was so yummy!!! I can't wait until they come to Duluth to go skiing with me... i'm crossing my fingers :) Yippee!

Christmas Date!

Every Christmas Robby and I get eachother gifts... but this year we decided to get gifts for children in need instead. We decided to have a Christmas date and planned out the entire day! We started by going to the dollar store to fill up shoe boxes to give to Operation Christmas Child. Robby got items for a boy and I picked out items for a girl... we bought them school supplies, hygiene products and also some fun things to play with.

After we finished shopping we feasted on blackwoods takeout and wine... mmmmm! As you can tell by the picture Robby was very excited about this part of the date :)

After supper we cranked some Christmas music and put up the tree. It was so so much fun and we even got compliments of our tree from the neighbors!!!

There were so many shoe boxes at the drop off site it was unbeleivable!!! Robby and I put a picture and note in our boxes with our address so maybe we will hear back from whoever receives our box! Click HERE to learn more about Operation Christmas Child!!

It's time to start wishing...

In case you drew my name for Christmas... here are some things on my list!

I LOVE Smartwool socks... if you know me well you know my feet are like icebergs most of the time. These socks are so so warm! I would like ones for cycling, running or skiing.

Hair Straightner... I really like the hot tools brand and I need a wider 2" one. It would be nice to have one that automatically shuts off after a period of time.

Thermarest sleeping pad for camping. I have an off brand one now and it's nothing like sleeping on a Thermarest!

Snowshoes!! I would think the less plastic on the bindings the better (less chance they will break). I think these are cute!

Headlamp... really this is a necessity. I wear Robby's all the time when I am out Nordic Skiing, running and biking and I just need to get my own. Pink or Green is fun!

BOOTS- I love slouchy boots... Target has a lot of cute ones (round rather than pointy toes please) Size 8

Tights- purple, jade or mustard... or a fun pattern

Warm, cute Mittens and Hats... I can't find any cute (and warm) ones anywhere... maybe you will have better luck that me. I did find some North Face ones I like:

Ski Helmet- probably a size small... I like a white helmet with pink/green graphics. This is essential for skiing in the mountains... which hopefully I will get some mountain skiing in this year!

Perfume... it doesn't have to be versace but I do LOVE this bottle. I like sweeter smelling perfumes.

That's all for now... I will add more as Christmas gets closer! YAY for Christmas! I CAN'T WAIT FOR SNOW!!!!!

I also want a new/upgraded coffee grinder... I want one that has settings for how long to grind for percolated/drip/espresso and also to measure how much grounds to grind for each cup of water... like this one

November Camping!!

Robby and I went camping this weekend. Our original plan was to go backpacking on the Superior Hiking Trail and make camp there. When we got to one of the trail heads we found out the entire trail was closed for deer hunting. Boo! So we decided to go to Gooseberry Falls instead... it was beautiful! It got cold at night but thanks to the awesome sleeping bag Robby got for me I stayed warm all night!

We built a fire next to the lake and made wild rice soup and drank wine and hot chocolate... mmmmm!!

Bundling up so I can survive the the below temperature... brrrrrrr!

This is a picture of Robby trying to wake me up at 5:30 to go watch the sunrise... it was soooooo cold I didn't want to get out of my sleeping bag.

It was TOTALLY worth getting up for. We sat on a cliff and watched the sunrise over Lake Superior. So romantic :)

Of course, you can't go up the shore without stopping for some good eats at Betty's Pies. We got breakfast, coffee and slices of the Great Lakes Crunch... yummy!!

Overall, a FANTASTIC camping trip!!

Mary, can you play this?

Before Jen left on her missions trip she gave me one of her coffee mugs that I loved. Everytime I drink out of it I wonder what the song sounds like printed on the mug. Mary, can you play it for me... pretty please?! :)
