Braving the storm

Today was blizzard conditions in Duluth... so we went snowshoeing!! It was sooooooo fun! We hiked to the overlook in Hartley park. John was prepared with hot chocolate... mmmm!

Is this ugly?

Jen, Robby and I were invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party on Friday night. We played board games and had cookies, cider and martini's. We got all decked out in ugly stuff... including Chrismas bulbs that we found on the tree that we used as earings!! Somehow, I think Jen ended up cute and not ugly at all. So, who wins your vote as ugliest sweater... Jen, Robby or I??

Election Day Date!

So Robby and I went on a 'political date' prior to the 08 election at Amazing Grace to talk about the facts of each canidate. Since Robby loves politics he did all of the research and then we discussed our thoughts and opinions. It was actaully a really fun date and it was nice to learn about the canidates and get the facts before the big day. November 4th turned out to be an incredible day in Duluth... it was in the 70's in November!! So we also went on an election day date to a little Italian cafe called "Va Benne". This is definitly my new favorite place to eat in Duluth. To our surprise we were able to eat lunch outside on the deck over looking the lake. It was beautiful and an incredible date!

How do you live like that?

So most people that know me know that i'm not the neatest person ever.... ecpecially when it comes to my bedroom. Every once in a while my room seems to throw up clothes... everywhere!! My old roomate Chris used to refer to my little messes as "research projects" which Mary and I thought was the funniest thing. Since I have the littlest room ever... it doesn't take much for my clothes to start to invade. So today was a big day... since I could no longer see my floor it was time to clean my room!!

So the pictures above do not show the whole picture of how bad it was. I had already cleaned up a lot by the time I thought of taking a picture. In my head I could hear my mom saying "How do you live like that?" which she used to always say when I lived at home.

After hours of sorting and folding and hanging... I finally finished the day long project. TA DA!

Christmas Wish List

So Mary bought this hat on Etsy and since she bought the same boots as me I get to buy the same hat as her... hehehe! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this hat. I really like both colors... Jill thinks the green would look better with my eyes but I think the purple would look better with my coat. hmmmm. To look at the hats click here.

Ski Goggles

I really need ski goggles. I like these white oakley's- they are simple but cute with a little girly sparkle. I would probably wear a size small (if you have a choice). Click here to see.

Ski Helmet
So... everyone's doing it. Helmets are definitly the cool thing on the ski slopes. This is one thing i'm missing for my ski wear. This ski helmet can be found by clicking here. I want a white helmet with pink/green grafics. I have a small head... so a small would probably work.

Zune Docking System

I want a Zune Dock so that I can listen to my music at work. This would be perfect for my desk! You can find these at Target or click here to find them online at Amazon. If you buy one at Target just make sure it is compatible with Zune.

Bath & Body Works
I always need some new lotions, body wash and body spray from bath & body works. You can nver have too much of this great smelling stuff! FYI... I really don't like vanilla flavored/smelling things :)

Smartwool Socks

I have never went skiing where my feet have acctually stayed warm. Someone told me to buy tall smartwool socks and that will solve my problem. They swear by them. So i'm adding smartwool socks to my list :) They are cheaper on http://www.sierratradingpost.com/

Versace Perfume
So... I got this idea from my briliant and beautiful friend Mary to post my Christmas wish list on my blog. What a GREAT idea!! I'm going to try to post one item a day... we'll see how that goes!

Here is my 1st item... Versace Bright Christal. I have wanted this perfume for a SUPER long time now... its nummy!

Target Boots

So... these may not be the most warm boot around... but it sure is cute! I could wear these to work on those cold winter days :) They are the "Kinsey" boot in grey and Kiley boot in black by mossimo found at Target. I wear a size 8.

Mukluks!!

Since Jill won't let me turn the heat past 60 degrees i'm going to need to stock up on some mukluks for the winter. I LOVE slippers... especially mukluks. You can find them anywhere since they are a hot item for this winter season.

Recycled Sweater Mittens

I LOVE the mittens that people make out of old sweaters... they are super warm! A lot of them are ungly and made of Grandpa sweaters... but I think the ones below are cute. They can be bought HERE.

Spirit Mountain opens on Saturday! I'm so excited for the ski season I can hardly wait any longer!! I'm going to brush up on my mad skills so when I go to the mountains it aint to thang...

My New Addiction

SIMPLE shoes are also a new addiction of mine. I got these sweet boots that I NEVER want to have to take off of my feet. They are comfortable and the cutest winter boots I have ever ever seen. YAY for simple. Check out their video above.

Yesterday I was on steep & cheap about to purchase the cutest winter boots ever and I went ot make my first purchase and by the time I filled in all of my information they were sold out... booo! I can't stop thinking about those boots... they were made out of organic canvas and looked really durable and warm... which is a must for Duluth.

If anyone has any ideas... i'm desparate for a pair of warm boots!! I have been looking but most winter boots are so ugly... like uggs... ick!

Today was the final race of the fall series! It was pretty sad for us girls since this is usually our favorite day of the week!

I love Brunch!

Today we went out for Sunday morning brunch at Pizza Luce. It is my favorite place to go for brunch... everything from a bloody mary buffet to granola and fruit plus any kind of benedict you can imagine. mmmmm!

My favorite place...

Someone once told me... it's not how far you travel or how exotic of a place you visit but the feeling you get when you are there.

Even though this place is found close to home... I LOVE IT and it is my favorite place to travel... but you may find out that I have a lot of favorites!

I recently moved to Duluth. I am constantly in awe by the beauty within this city. Everwhere you go- even a few blocks from the mall- there is wilderness. Although the city itself is not in the best shape, there is true beauty found everywhere! Isn't God's creation so amazing!
