Farewell Domino

So my best friend Mary Ida got me hooked on the cutest magazine: Domino. I went online today to look at some things I found in the March issue and here's what I found:

It is with very heavy hearts that we say farewell. Over the last 4 years, in 28 issues, we have done our best to create a great magazine. We started with a real idea—that style is for everyone—and tried to carry it out with stories that provide inspiration and empower you to act on it. From your tremendous response, we know that we were onto something. In this tough economy, however, we simply weren't able to get the advertising support we needed.
As domino evolved, we never lost sight of our original democratic premise. Looking back at the manifesto we published in the premiere issue, the first tenet of domino is still the truest: Home should make you happy. We hope we have played a part in making this come true for you.

Let the Birkie capture your soul....

A few weekends ago Jen, Joey and I went to the American Birkebeiner ski race. We staying in a really cute cabin at the "Home of Famous Daves". It was in Hayward, WI which is such a fun town. We had a blast. We went for morning runs, skiied in the race and cooked on an antique stove. Check out our pics...

LOVE day!

This Valentines Day Robby and I spent together skiing across frozen lake superior along with 1200 other skiers!! It was an incredible event... with fun skiing, bonfire, tasty chilli, fresh brewed beer and a band. The ski was pretty fun... but the snow was still icy from all of the warm weather we have had. We sat on the ground in a huge heated tent when we were finished and enjoyed the chilli and beer.... who needs a classy restaurant on v-day when you can be in a tent outside :)

Book Across the Bay!

So today Robby' and I are skiing in our first cross country 10K ski race!! I'm super excited. The race goes across lake superior... yay for no hills! Happy Belated Birthday to ME!

So... back in January I celebrated my 26th Brithday!! Yikes! It was really fun. We went out to this hippy restaurant and ate supper in what looked like a library (Mary would have loved it). And then went over to my friend Jen's for surprise cheesecake! It was really fun. Robby got me everything I need to wax my ski's...

Jen got me a bunch of fun things... wine and wine perserver (for camping)!! She also got me the start of a fun coffee cup collection. I LOVE having coffee at Katie and Aaron's because they have the most fun selection of coffee cups. I decided that i'm going to start collecting coffee cups... I hope to find some fun one's at thrift stores and rummage sales!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Hello Friends! It has been a long time since I have blogged. Today i'm making heart shaped monster cookies for my Valentine! They are turning out really cute! In the past I never was a big fan of this day.. espcially the forced flowers... yuck! Anyways- I thought I would try to make somtething cute!

New Year- New Race

It's that time of year... to pick out the races and start training. I think I'm going to do the Fargo Half Marathon as a training run on May 9th.

Since I moved to Duluth and Grandma's Marathon is a prestigious race... I think this will be my full marathon this year. The big day is June 20th. I'm a little worried about the running in June because it could get really hot and that's not fun!! The course is beautiful... Robby and I drove the course yesterday and it starts by Two Harbors and follows the lake shore for most of the way... its an amazing veiw.

I'm going to start training this week and I found a really cool program and training log on Runners World. I'm a little nervous to start since I haven't been working out a lot lately. I'm also going to start a blog with runners world so I can look back year to year on my training.
