the perfect place

Robby and I just got our permit for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. It's official... we are going there for our honeymoon! I really can't imagine a more perfect place to spend our 1st few days of marriage together. First of all it is one of the most beautiful places that I can imagine and second it is incredibly peaceful. We are going to leave our cell phones, computer, internet and any connection with the outside world and spend a few days just us in the middle of the wilderness... no distractions... no stress. Sigh.

p.s. I love camping. I think I could camp everyday.

I can't wait!!!!

You've Got Mail!

Seriously... getting "fun" mail brightens my day! :) This week I have gotten 2 fun packages from 3 very wonderful friends!!! It was my new years resolution this year to be more thoughtful... I have A LOT of work to do!

Christina sent me a letter! It isn't very often when someone takes the time to hand write a letter... which makes this mail EXTRA special! She sent it in the cutest package - fruit that looks like bugs... i can't describe it but it is really stinkin cute! Her stationery is vintage and fun right?! (by the way... I really want to collect vintage cards to make "new" greeting cards with... doesn't that sound fun... who wants to spend $4-$5 on a card now days) Anyways... she also sent me a copy of her vegan cookbook. Although I don't typically cook vegan... i'm excited to try out a few recipes! Thanks Christina... you are so thoughtful and such a great friend!

Mary and Beth sent me a box full of Birthday and Sympathy love from Denver :) The box came complete with 2 sympathy cards, 1 homemade birthday greeting, red nail polish (beleive it or not I don't already have this color!), crazy socks, a fuzzy smile thing, trail mix (very healthy), an opened bag of my farorite easter candy cadberry mini eggs (it's okay I like to share), a folk cd (I LOVE folk music), a tie dye shirt (yes, I will wear this with pink pumps), tie dye art, and EVEN a chocolate doughnut treat for Robby. Ahhhhh. So much meaning in such a little box.
Thanks sweet friends... I love you!!

Big Sky

We had so much fun shredding in Big Sky! It was awesome seeing my sisters and swaaan too. The weather was so nice but a little windy. We made two trips to the peak which made the trip for me :) Can't beat a Lone Peak run!

Here is our family picture (minus Heidi). Yes - my dad really did wear that. One day I was going to get my lift ticket and I saw this guy in all camo and I was like hey dad - and then I realized my dad wasn't the only person on the mountain wearing all camo. Awkward.

Robby decied to take a tree run and I thought I would follow him to try to hit some powder. All of the sudden he hit this huge jump and disappeared. This is what I found on the other side of the jump! I almost fell on top of him!

I found some sweet ski's for Mary. She could hit a jump and while doing a helicopter look down and see some white shiny piano keys. Perfect.

Lily was sooooooooooooo excited to go to the mountains!! She even wore a shirt that said "Go Big Sky!". She was incredibly cute all weekend. When we got there she ran towards Robby and Mom. They were both ready to give her a huge hug and she ran right past them to touch this leather couch behind them. It was pretty funny.

We ate at the 320 ranch one night where Alli works. It was so neat! I loved the rustic relaxing atmosphere. It was perfect... and the food was AMAZING! I had steak of course. YUM!

I love this picture of Alli... it just makes me want to give her a big hug.

We got to take Lily skiing with us. She even went up the chair lift multiple times! She had to ski between our legs. Dad, Sam and I took turns and it made our thighs burn pretty bad. It was worth every "Wee-Ha" out of Lily's mouth. She laughed a lot and loved skiing! I'm pretty confident she will be a skiier for life. Snowboarding is for the birds.

Birthday Weekend!

Robby and I shared the most perfect weekend together! It started out on Thursday evening where we spent the evening skiing at spirit mountain.... for free. Can't beat a free night of skiing! Then we used our seize the deal at The Buffalo house and drank the coldest beer. It was so much fun!
On Friday it was snowing and we needed to get out of the house to so we went for a run. It was such a pretty run. Our caves hurt so bad after from trying to run in fluffy snow. It was a great workout!


Saturday was my birthday. Robby and I made banana blackberry wholewheat pankaces with banana walnut syrup and eggs with veggies. It was soooooooooooooooooo yummy! It's my favorite meal at Luce and i'm pretty sure I did a good job replicating it! :)



I took Robby skate skiing for his 1st time. I wish I would have got a picture of this... but he did really good! He said that he really likes it... I think it will just take time and practice. We had so much fun and the trail was beautiful! After skiing we went and shared a drink at the ice bar in Two Harbors. It was fun to sit outside and have a drink.

Friends came over for cake and cards on Saturday night! We played a fun game of Up and Down the River where Aa(RON) wooped us big time. It was some good clean fun :)

We're Engaged!

Of course you probably already knew that! :) But I'm finally posting some of our "engagement" pictures. My talented friends Katie & Marnie took pictures for us at Hartley park. They did a really nice job... i love them! If you know me... you know that i'm not really into the wedding "fluff". I was like what do I need engagement pictures for... what the heck am I going to do with them anyways?
