Cup of Joe!

So the cutest most thoughtful thing happened to Robby over there in Afghanistan (the armpit of the world as Jill would say).  He received "a cup of Joe" through a program that let's civilians over in the U.S. buy coffee for the troops overseas.  Here is what his note read with his free coffee:

Dear Service Member, This gift of coffee is from the servers of a small independent coffee shop in Klamath Falls OR. From July 4-6, our servers gathered all of their tips and decided to put them together to buy you a cup (or perhaps many cups) of coffee. It is our way of saying "thank you." Several of our servers have family members (brothers, uncles, fathers, sisters) that have been in or are currently deployed and this gift is very personal for them. All of us here hope that this cup of coffee brings you a little bit of home. You are supported and appreciated from afar. Thank you for your service, Sara A Leap Of Taste, Manager

How sweet of them to give up their tips for a few days.  What a thoughtful, generous & kind gift!!  Robby was more than thrilled about it and it made his day!

Art In Me!

Today was Art In Me... A free art festival for kids that our church puts on every year.  Kids get to express their artistic gifts through a ton of fun projects.  This year I organized the cookie decorating booth. It was a huge success and super cute.  One girl ate her cookie before she decorated it... oopsy.  It was beautiful watching our church come together and serve kids in Duluth being the hands & feet of Christ.  What a fun filled day!

Vintage love

I saw this truck with matching camper at a gas station and fell in love immediately.  I wonder if maybe dad can make me one?  After all, he can do anything right?

I walk by this bike every day.  It's a good think I'm not a thief because thoughts of it becoming mine enter my mind every time I see it.  Isn't it the most lovely bike?

Not as lovely as "pedals" though.  She was my favorite bike but was stolen and my heart has been broken every since.  I won her at a bike auction and it was the best $10 i've ever spent. EVER.

Anyone?? That's right... the greatest movie of all time: TOP GUN!  Last night I enjoyed a solo night out at movies in the park.  I never thought I would go to a movie by myself... but they were playing Top Gun and I just had to be there!  It was a lovely evening.
